HEMA

Starting from the notion that friends always seem to miss out on each other during the holidays, we came up with ‘Amsterdam celebrates Christmas’. A party on Strand Zuid where New Year’s eve and Christmas were celebrated at the same time, so that everyone could see each other for the holidays.

The Look & Feel of the location was HEMA-style. As a snack there were the world famous Hema sausages and ‘tompouces’ and the location was illuminated by thousands of bike lights. At midnight we lighted little sparklers and made a lot of noise with 1000 bicycle bells. And to top it all, Santa dropped by and handed out gifts through a game of bingo.

Bols | Rokin’ Society

The Roadshow thought of the concept of the Rokin Society and presented it to BOLS, who immediately saw its value and adopted the concept. And so a network event was realised on a superb location: the penthouse Rokin View on the Amsterdam Rokin.

In collaboration with the model agency that held office in the penthouse, the building was transformed to a monthly hotspot for the creative scene. A group of two hundred creative people were invited to come and enjoy the cocktails of BOLS, art, performances and the energy of all the guests. They were exquisite evenings!

NET5 | Sunday Jam

The brand manager at NET5 had been present as a guest at one of our organised events and had such a good time that she decided to contact us. Her request was that we would think of an event, which would fit with their target group (mostly women between the ages of 30 and 60).

The event we came up with was Sunday Jam; a party held on Sunday night with a mix of live music of famous artists and DJ’s. Partner Samsung also handed out very nice gifts. We thought of the concept, produced the event and invited part of the guests. All of this offered NET5 the desired platform that enable them to communicate with their target group, both live during the event and before and after the event via Social Media.

Givenchy

Givenchy launched its newest perfume during the Amsterdam Fashion Week, but wasn’t able to present itself at the event because their biggest competitor was the official sponsor of the event. Through our connections we able to get a team of photographers to the event, looking for a man who could compete with the face of the new perfume: Justin Timberlake. The pictures that were taken at the event, were uploaded to a special website and the visitors of the website could vote on the candidate of their choice. The votes were combined with the opinion of a jury, after which one winner was selected and who won a nice price.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week

During the Fashion Week edition 2008 there were a number of participating brands that wanted to organise an event and AIFW asked us to oversee these events. De participating brands were: Heineken, Marlies Dekkers, La Vie en Rose, en Replay. All the events took place in Het Transformatorhuis on the terrain of the Westergasfabriek. Nice brands that invited around 750 guests and went all out with their fashion shows, live bands and a solid line-up.

Off Schedule | AIFW’08

Off Schedule is the worldwide pre-show for the Fashion Week and entails several events in different cities and on numerous locations. We were approached to take care of the production of the fashion shows in Paradiso. Unknown and mostly foreign designers gave multiple shows here. The production of this event required us to manage sixty models and handle all communications between the technical department and the backstage area. It was a very challenging production, mainly because of the many foreign participants.

Guitar Hero & WE Fashion

In 2007 we thought of the concept ‘Friday Night Live’, a party concept consisting of a mix of stand-up comedy, DJ’s and live band performances. We proposed the concept to our contacts within Activision (the world’s leading game producer) and WE Fashion.

Both parties saw the event as a possibility to target a new group of consumers in a, for them, unconventional way. We further developed the concept to an evening where WE was able to style the performing bands and DJ’s and thus show their newest collection. The experience of Guitar Hero was brought to life by organising a battle between members of the audience and several famous stand-up comedians, where winners from the audience were rewarded with games and game consoles.

Hyves

In the pre-Facebook age, Hyves was the unrivalled leader of Social Media platforms in the Netherlands. At the end of 2007 their five millionth member joined so they had a reason to celebrate with a big party in the WesterUnie. On the guest list were thousands of invitees and the entire spectacle took place under the watchful eyes of the massively present media. Next to the production, we also took on the task of designing the décor, which made it extra fun to be a part of this event.

Caffé PC Five Years

Caffé PC (indeed, located in the famous P.C. Hooftstraat) existed five years and they wanted to celebrate this in such a way that it would create publicity. We just so happened to know that former boxing champion Regilio Tuur was a usual customer there, and so we asked him to help us with the celebration.

It was the period (2007) where the term P.C. Hooft Tractor was popular, seeing as how the street was filled with expensive SUV’s that paraded up and down the street. Thus, we thought it would be fun to make a parody of this trend and we wanted it to be picked up by all the lifestyle media. We let Mr. Tuur drive up the street in a gigantic tractor. And to make it even crazier, the tractor pulled a flat cart where we put former soccer player Glenn Helder, surrounded by typical P.C. Hooft-ladies, behind a drum set. Under the loud sound of the drums and under the eye of the media, Tuur parked his tractor right in front of Caffé PC. While stepping down from the tractor he gave the keys nonchalantly to the valet saying: “Hey dude, park my truck will you? I am gonna eat a sandwich in my favourite café.”

Blackberry

Way back in the day and in the pre-iPhone era, Blackberry was the untouched market leader in mobile telephones. Because they wanted to keep this position, The Roadshow organised an awesome party for the ‘movers & shakers’ of Amsterdam. It was a successful event, as you can see on this case-movie; unfortunately the quality has been affected over the years.
